He holds a PhD from the University of Rouen (France) where he defended a thesis entitled « Contribution à l’étude de la sécurité juridique en droit fiscal interne français » (Contribution to the study of legal certainty in French domestic tax law) in 1996. Since 2015 he is co-director of the Master in Business Law and Taxation at the University of Rouen-Normandie, where he teaches courses in family tax law, corporate taxation, digital taxation, insurance taxation, comprehensive notarial taxation and tax litigation.
Frédéric DOUET penned several articles and books and publishes tax and wealth engineering chronicles in Revue de jurisprudence fiscale (since 2022), Revue générale de droit des assurances (since 2003), Revue droit de la famille (since 1999) and Répertoire du notariat Defrénois (from 2001 to 2011). He is also the author of « Anti Manuel de Psychologie Fiscale : Techniques de plumaison des contribuables sans les faire trop crier » whose 2nd edition was published in October 2022 by Editions Enrick B.
In addition to his academics and editorial activities, he is
- Member of the Conseil des prélèvements obligatoires in his capacity as a qualified person (since 2021), an institution associated with the Cour des Comptes (General accounting office) where he acted as an expert in 2011 with respect to taxation of life insurance,
- Member of the Cercle des fiscalistes (since 2022),
- Member of the Scientific Committee of the Monassier Group (since 2019) and of Notaires Conseil d’Entreprise (since 2021).
