In an interview for the December 2017 issue of Magazine des Professions Financières, Lionel DEVIC looks at the different types of foundations and their benefits for businesses and entrepreneurs.
As companies seek to further develop their philanthropy, using the legal structure of a foundation gradually becomes necessary. In the December 2017 issue of Magazine des Professions Financières, Lionel DEVIC, a partner in the "Not-for-profit Organizations" department, sheds light on the different types of foundations and the advantages these legal structures offer businesses and entrepreneurs, in particular in relation to tax. In addition to their advantages in terms of tax, foundations can give the CSR policy (of the company) a structure by offering their employees opportunities for engagement". They are also a way for entrepreneurs to create "philanthropic capital" and "successfully establish both a mind-set and the company’s development values". According to Lionel DEVIC, the use of a foundation must, however, be part of a well-structured project that selects the most suitable type of foundation.
