Subject to the usual regulatory approvals by the relevant authorities, Mercedes-Benz AG will become a 33.3% shareholder, equally with Stellantis and TotalEnergies (through its subsidiary Saft) in the joint venture Automotive Cells Company SE (ACC), which specialises in the production of automotive batteries.
Created in August 2020 by Stellantis and Saft (a subsidiary of TotalEnergies), ACC now combines the expertise of three major groups with complementary skills and experience with the ambition of becoming the European leader in the automotive batteries market, with an industrial production target of at least 120 GWh by 2030.
Adrien WILLIOT, partner and co-head of the Real Estate Department, and Cyprien de SCORBIAC, associate, advised and assisted the Mercedes-Benz AG group in this transaction and were particularly involved in the real estate aspects of the transaction.
