In an article published on the WEKA website on 20 January 2017, Renaud-Jean CHAUSSADE, a partner in the "Public Law" department, analyses the impact of mergers affecting municipality groupings and urban area groupings on their competence in relation to local urban plans as from 27 March 2017. "Although this mechanism is consistent with regard to the organization of the space and the recognition of the inter-municipal reality, its application is likely to generate tensions, in particular within the public intercommunal cooperation institutions (EPCI) resulting from a forced merger or in a context in which the transfer of competency is disputed," he explains.
